Parish Walks

These take place on each Bank Holiday – watch the Diary and Bulletin Pages for information.

The parish walking group was formed in 1990 by father Turner who had an amazing knowledge of the countryside and a great love for the outdoors. Over the years we have enjoyed many lovely walks in the Lakes, Yorkshire dales, Trough of Bowland, Ribble and Lune valleys and West Pennines.

Walks take place during the Christmas holidays, usually the day after Boxing Day, and every Bank Holiday Monday. We meet outside the parish hall at 9.45 a.m. and leave promptly at 10.00 a.m. The walks are suitable for all ages (no unaccompanied children) and are approximately seven miles in length.

Walkers require a packed lunch, suitable clothing and footwear, and enough money for a pint at a local pub! We normally end the day with a meal together on our return.

New members are always welcome. We look forward to seeing you on the next walk!
