New This Week (22 / 23 November 2014)

 
Tea & Coffee:
Tea & coffee is served in the Hall after 9.00am Mass this Sunday and most Sundays. A great opportunity to come and meet other parishioners. Everyone is welcome.
 
Christmas Mass Times: 
PLEASE NOTE that Midnight Mass will be at 11.00pm, preceded by Carols and Readings at 10.30pm. Mass on Christmas Day will be at 9.00am.
 
Marriage:
Please remember in your prayers David Paul Rees and Victoria Anne Nickson who are to be married here on Friday 28th November at 12.30pm.
 
Confirmation Programme: 
Begins on Wednesday 26th November at 7.00 til 8.00pm in St Joseph’s Church Hall. If young people were not baptised here or at St Peter’s, please bring a baptismal certificate. Sessions will normally be on Wednesday evenings (apart from Monday 8th December). The date of the Confirmation Mass is Thursday 29th January 2015.

Unwanted Gifts Sale For The Bell Fund: 
Thank you to all who helped with this event in the hall last Saturday. In addition to the gifts sale there were cakes, teas, coffee & a bottle tombola which together made £401.06 for the Bell Fund. It was also a great social event.
 
St. Joseph’s Hospice Fund Draw:
The Hospice Fund draw took place on the 16th of November. The winners are:

Coffee/Tea, Raffle, Cakes and Gift Sales made £108.70. Thank you to all our members and those who support the Hospice. A cheque for £1500.00 will be sent to the Hospice from St. Joseph’s for year 2014/2015. 
 
Burkina Faso: 
A total of £1,800 has been donated and this will be presented to the Bernardine Sisters next Sunday 30 November at 2.30pm.This free event will include light refreshments and Andy Severyn will perform some of his Advent music. All welcome. 
 
Tea And Chat: 
Pre Christmas Party on Friday 5th Dec at 2.00pm. We are having a “Christmasy” concert/party and would love you to join us for music, entertainment, seasonal food and free raffle. If you have a neighbour or friend who would like to come (no need to be a Catholic) or Eucharistic Ministers know of anyone, please bring them along or call the number in this week bulletin if transport is needed. 
 
Children's Christmas Party:
 for children of our Parish up to and including Year 6 will be held on Sunday 7th December in the Church Hall from 3pm – 5pm. Please see the notice at the back of church and put names and ages on the list. Thank you. Contact phone number in this weeks bulletin
 
One Voice Community Choir:
The one voice community choir Christmas concert will be on Wednesday, 10th December. Tickets are £5 and include wine and nibbles. The choir were the BBC gospel choir of the year in 2013. 
 
The Sacramental Preparation Program (First Holy Communion): 
The program for children in year 3 or above who wish to make their First Holy Communion in June 2015 will be starting soon. There will be a meeting for parents with Fr. David and the catechists on Thursday the 27th of November at 6.30pm. Would parents who wish their child to be part of this preparation please phone Mrs. Drake. Wednesday Word:
The Wednesday Word is available from the back of church to help prepare for next Sunday’s readings.

Women Together In The Diocese:
There will be an Advent day on Saturday the 22nd of November, led by Fr Philip Connor from Castlerigg. Further details can be found on the poster at the back of Church, or call the number in this weeks bulletin.
 
HMP Kirkham:
HMP Kirkham are holding their annual Carol Service on Thursday the 18th of December and as usual invite people to join them. Start time to be advised later. Names of attendees to be advised in advance, so if you are interested, please sign up on the sheet at the back of Church - Thank you. 
 
The Tinkerbell Ball:
The Tinkerbell Ball is on Saturday the 22nd of November 2014 at the Grand Hotel. The annual charity ball raises funds for Brian House Children's Hospice. Thickest are £37.50. Tables for up to 12 are available. Please contact Emma Cox. See this weeks bulletin for contact details.
